Training on Arts and Crafts

 As a part of Product Innovation and Design Unit of the agency, various trainings have been carried over the period of three months. The school leavers, rehabilitation mates, inmates of Chamgang were trained in various field of arts and crafts. The training field included embroidery, wood carving, sculpturing, desho flower making, painting, tailoring, weaving and in ceramics. Total of 159 participated in the program.

The trainees were taught in various field by expert from basic to advance in individual field. The training was conducted for inmates for 112 hours in embroidery, wood carving, desho flower making, painting and tailoring while rehabilitation mates were trained in sculpturing for one month. Ceramics training and word carving were conducted for school leavers for the period of three months while weaving was taught to residence of Goenpa Karp, Lhuentse for one month.

The training was closed with a small exhibition of products created by the trainees on July 17, 2017. The training was funded by Ministry of Labour and Human Resources.
